o I use the Depth of Knowledge chart to help come up with activities to help students increase the levels of difficulty.
2. How are assessments designed to promote learning rather than simple measurement?
o I use the assessments to help determine if the students have successfully mastered the skills. Students may need additional instruction if they do not successfully master the skills.
3. What are the most common instructional or literacy strategies that you used this year?
o I use Explicit Direct Instruction strategies to teach the lesson cycle.
4. How do you respond when a child is struggling in class?
o When a student is struggling in class, I am expected to give the students intervention to help him/her master the skills. The student’s parents are informed about the areas of weakness. The student is referred to the School Intervention Team. The interventions that are recommended by the team are implemented by me to help the student.

o English language learners need a lot of visual cues and repetition to learn the language.

o People who are literate in the 21st Century are able to effectively communicate. They read fluently various genres. People who are literate are able to write to express their thought and ideas. Technology is used to enhance the sharing of information.
